Prenatal
We provide compassionate and comprehensive prenatal care to our families by offering regular prenatal appointments to assess maternal and fetal well being. Once you start care with us you will have access to our phone line and mobile app chat feature to connect with us as you need. In your tenth week of pregnancy we will begin meeting in person regularly for your “routine” prenatal appointments. At our appointments we will continually check and record the health of both you and your baby, including monitoring blood work, blood pressure, weight, fundal height, and fetal heart tones. Our careful measurements and checks exceed state requirements so we can provide the best care and monitoring of your pregnancy. You will also be receiving weekly educational emails through your care and into the postpartum season. Education is one of our passions as a team. You’ll notice that our prenatal visits are surprisingly prompt, with short if any wait times. You’ll also notice that we take our time with your care - we invest 45 minutes to one hour per prenatal appointment so that we can connect, discuss your questions, encourage you with your diet and supplements, care for your pregnancy symptoms, and prepare for your birth.
Delivery
When choosing homebirth we bring the majority of the supplies to your home in the 37th week of pregnancy. We include a birth pool and birth kit in the homebirth package. As your pregnancy progresses we will discuss details about your upcoming birth and your desires. We will ensure you feel comfortable with the plan and know when to call the team for the birth. You will be able to connect with us at any moment. We will help you dream and create the birth environment you desire for your little one’s arrival. We can help you navigate the decisions leading up to delivery and prepare you for the big event through classes and other resources! We will provide expert care for your home delivery, or if the situation necessitates, assist you with transfer to hospital care if needed. Should your birth need to transfer, we stay with you to assist with transfer of care and provide doula services to fully support you through your delivery.
Postpartum
We do not disappear after you are holding your baby! We care for everything after a home delivery, from cleanup to monitoring you and baby. We’ll make sure that everything is settled and you are able to nurse and rest. Our care continues with a visit 24-36 hours after delivery to follow up on baby’s care and make sure you are recovering, nursing, resting, and ready for the coming days. We also visit you once more at home after your milk is in to check on baby’s weight and breastfeeding. We continue to stay connected with you, seeing you twice more (in office) over the next 6 weeks, ensuring you are well along the way to a healthy start with your baby. We have resources and references for the best lactation consultants and therapists for any need that arises, and can help you navigate through early challenges. We are on your team!
